The goal of project Hyper Hub was to re-activate the idea of alternative traveling through new, arising technologies, such as hyperloop, drones, electric vehicles and magnetic rail-ways in Europe, which finds itself today in both, a socio-economic but also a deepening global environmental crisis. In interdisciplinary teams of two students, an architectural vision was developed. The goal was to integrate the above-mentioned technologies in the development of a ‚hypernode‘, a central transportation hub in a selected metropolitan area in Europe. The architectural design proposal aims for a functional building connecting various transportation technologies being a central meeting, communication and living hub for connected citizens and travelers. The proposed solutions varied from E-gas fueled rockets, swarm behavior controlled robots to hyperloop systems that could supply Africa with clean water.
