Tobias Nolte is Professor for Media in Architectural Design at Leibniz University Hanover, Germany. Together with Andrew Witt he is founding partner of Certain Measures (CM), a hypothesis driven creative studio based in Berlin and Boston. Works by CM have been exhibited at the Center Pompidou Paris, Barbican Center London, Museum of the Future Dubai, AI Art Center Shanghai, HKW Berlin, and CCA Montreal among others. Certain Measures were finalists of the Zumtobel Group Award 2017 and winners of the international ideas competition Beyond Bauhaus 2019. In 2018 the Center Pompidou acquired the project “Mine the Scrap” for its permanent collection.
Previously, Tobias Nolte was Director at Gehry Technologies in New York and Paris, where he led a team of architects in the development of parametric and computational methods in architecture. He was a research fellow at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and worked for Preston Scott Cohen, Inc. He taught digital design at École Spéciale d’Architecture Paris and at University of Applied Arts Vienna. Tobias Nolte studied architecture at TU Berlin and the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles.
